Overview
Savi Networks was formed to improve the efficiency and security of global trade. The importance of Savi Networks' mission is constantly increasing given the challenges, risks, and opportunities of global trade.
The result of globalization is that manufacturing locations and end consumption are spread across the globe - tied together by complex supply chains. Shipment security and supply chain execution are defining the companies to trust - by consumers, business partners, and investors. Yet the ERP and supply chain systems most companies have in place are not equipped to manage the new complexities. Savi Networks is helping supply chain executives bridge the gaps between traditional decision support systems and 21st century supply chain challenges.
Savi Networks operates SaviTrak™, an information service used to improve
the financial performance of customers by enabling more effective flow
of inventory through the global supply chain. SaviTrak™ utilizes a
reliable network of wireless Automated Identification and Data
Collection (AIDC) equipment and software to provide shippers, logistics
service providers, and terminal operators with precise and actionable
information. The information is used to identify both real-time and
systemic issues and then make appropriate decisions. SaviTrak™ provides
solutions in the following domains:
- Supply Chain Execution
- Security
- Environmental Monitoring
The global Network accommodates multiple technologies used to manage inventory in the supply chain - such as barcodes, EPC-compliant passive and active RFID technologies, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Savi Networks has formed partnerships to extend its Network to critical checkpoints at 80 terminals worldwide, representing over 80 million TEU handlings annually. Network partners include: HPH, Georgia Ports Authority, Virginia Ports Authority, Trans Pacific Container Service Corp. (TraPac), Hong Ming Terminals and Stevedoring Company Ltd., and Marine Terminals Corp., among others.
Savi Networks is a joint venture between Savi Technology, Inc. - a Lockheed Martin Company, a leading provider of complex global communications networks and information systems - and Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), the world's largest ocean port terminal operator and developer.
